I have driven a truck for over 25 years now, and the best way to get any kind of information on a company is to call their corporate offices. I have never driven for Swift, so I cant really give you much info about them as a company. However…..Companies like JB Hunt, Werner, etc. are the big boys in the game. This decision is kinda tough because each company offers different things. If you want to make the most money, then go with JB Hunt, but if you want things like paperless logs, then Werner is the right choice. You do realize of course that you will be gone from home for up to 3-4 weeks at a time? If that does not bother you, and you have a strong desire to take on this challenge, I recommend JB Hunt. Only because once you hire on and stick with it, you can then put in for a route that will get you home more often. Most of these trucking outfits could care less if you ever see your home again. They want you on the road, and that is where they will keep you. I ran OTR for over 10 years, and finally got so sick of being away from my wife and children. Now I run a regional route from Dallas, Tx. to Austin, Tx every night. The money is great, and I get to see my family. I drive for Cardinal Logistics Managment. Their website is below. If your looking to get a driving job w/ Swift, don't. They are 1 of the top worst companies to work for. I should know. I was w/ them for 6 months and the did nothing but screw me, as far as pay and home time. Try Central trucking, Knight, and Warner. They might not be the best, but they are better than Swift.

All you have to do is apply swift will contact you back. believe they will "teach" you to drive in a 6 or 8 week course in memphis,tn then you will go out with a trainer for a predetermined amount of time.They are not a very good company but will get you "trained" and driving,I believe you have to sign a year contract or something like that.As far as good companies…hmmmmm. there really isn't such a thing if you drive a company truck,this is why the industry has the worst turnover rate out of anything out there expect to be lied to and kept on the road for weeks at a time and promised money you will never see, just get your CDL license,and bide your time (most companies want at least a years exp.) then do your research and talk to other drivers.Eventually you will find a company that is better than some worse than others.try classadrivers.com and forum room there for more answers about trucking and driving.i believe they have a new link on there to rate companies…slower traffic keep right beep beep…
